Notes & Combos
Once again, another very agonizing climb to Lvl 20 with Ra only.
Respectfully, Ra is just not very good with this meta. A single disruption to your continuous spell, D.D crow, or just a Droll & Lock is enough for a surrender. I didn't have the most fun doing this, it was a very stressful climb, with a lot of rank downs and rank ups, it took me a few hours everyday just to do it. With that said, I'm happy to have done it, just so I can prove that Ra can still have its place if you try hard enough.
Few things I probably have to mention, here's your matchups usually:
Good matchups:
- Neos: If you're going second, hope that they'll summon 3 monsters on their field so you can use Sphere Mode, because most of the time, they'll probably have Armed out to negate your continous spell. Otherwise, if you have a really good opening hand, just try to bait the negate. If you're going first, I cannot stress this enough, it is important to have Dark Spell Regeneration in your GY to counter Rainbow Neos after they get it on the field, usually if you're going first, you'll probably be fine.
- Resonators (1st only): Resonators is actually not bad to beat if you're going 1st, since Dark Spell Regeneration helps you again if you get it in the GY, otherwise if you don't have it, you're cooked.
- Cyber Dragon: Dark Spell Regeneration to send Nova to the GY, if they get Infinity at any point, you're cooked since you won't be able to use Sphere Mode.
Bad matchups:
- Lyrilusc: Just instant surrender lol
- Shiranui: If you don't have any backrow removal, their no damage trap card makes it so that you're doomed
- Resonators (2nd): The disruptions are enough to make you instantly surrender sadly
Advance Draw: Highly situational card, but it helps sometimes if you don't have enough LP to sacrifice Ra or you don't have the continuous spell but you do have Immortal Phoenix in the GY.
Dark World Dealings: Helps with sending Immortal Phoenix or Dark Spell Regeneration to the GY with an added bonus of adding a card.
Into the Void: Much like above, it helps with sending cards to the GY at the end of the turn.
Mostly it really, I'm still mostly an F2P player, not a lot of staples, I was actively grinding for those draw cards just for Ra before the KC lol. Anyways, Ra is really fun, so I'll keep playing it even in the next KCs. I wouldn't really use this deck though, you could optimize it by ALOT. Thank you for taking the time to read!
